5 WEBSITES THAT PAY YOU TO READ

Here are 6 websites that will pay you to review books that you already know and love.

1. Reedsy.com

Once accepted to Reedsy.com reviewer, you may instantly begin browsing the shelves and reading. Book reviewers can get tips for their reviews. Readers can give $1, $3, or $5 as a token of appreciation.

2. Kirkusreviews.com

Kirkusreviews.com accepts applications for freelance reviewers. However, it won’t be for traditionally published books. Instead, reviewers would be working on self-published books for the indie section of the magazine called Kirkus Indie.

The review is around 350 words in length and is due two weeks after the book is assigned. They pay $50, but if they see some exceptional writing, they may increase it to $75. They pay $40 for a 250-word review of picture books.

3. Onlinebookclub.org

You will be given a free copy of a book and then paid to provide an honest review of that book. You don't have to lie and say you enjoyed it if you did not. You're being paid for an honest, quick review, not a positive one.

Most current payments range from $5 to $60 per review. You will not get rich, but you can earn up to a couple hundred dollars per month, most likely not at initially but rather as you establish yourself as a reviewer. Then there are the savings from getting your books for free rather than paying for them. You will not be paid for your first review, but you will receive the book free of charge.

4. Booklistonline.com

Booklist pays $15 per review. You get paid for a review once it is published in a magazine or online. If a review is held for a later issue, you may not be paid for it for some time. You will be paid a $5 "reject fee" if you reject a title. Reviewers will also receive a print subscription to Booklist, as well as online access.

5. Instaread.co

Instaread is a subscription-based service that provides readers with a comprehensive overview of books in 15-minute audio or text format. They present crucial ideas and takeaways from bestselling and classic novels to help readers read quickly and easily.

In this case, Instaread pays for book summaries rather than book reviews. You will need to write around 1,000 to 1,500 words. They do, however, pay $100 per summary.
